Nestled in the heart of Maui, this private horse barn reflects the harmony between craftsmanship, functionality, and nature’s beauty.
Behind every new horse barn lies an equestrian’s vision, a space where passion for horses and design meet. This breathtaking barn, set against Maui’s sweeping ocean views, was thoughtfully designed for a client who raises and trains quarter horses for polo. The result is a seamless blend of island charm, durability, and refined equestrian living.
An Island Haven for Horses
From the moment you arrive, the barn exudes warmth. Its crisp white siding contrasts beautifully with deep wood tones and classic cross-buck details on the Aisle Barn Doors. We love these Barn Entry Doors as they provide the perfect simple, yet timeless entry for this barn.
All exterior components, such as these Barn Entry Doors, are built from premium American pre-galvanized steel, a zinc-rich primer, and a powder coat finish for ultimate longevity against the Hawaii coast.

Inside, soft natural light filters through Dutch Windows, illuminating the golden hues of the wood and the elegant black powder coat finishes of the horse stall systems.
Each of the six Sliding Stall Fronts was custom-built to order to meet our client's needs. Each Sliding Horse Stall features a V-Shaped Yoke, inviting connection between horse and handler while maintaining safety. The yoke design encourages visibility and social interaction, helping horses feel calm and content.
The lower portion of each door incorporates heavy-duty welded mesh, ensuring exceptional airflow while keeping bedding in place. We always love it when mesh is incorporated in horse stall doors as they promote ventilation, visibility, and the ability for sunlight to reach further. You can read our thoughts on mesh here.
Every stall door glides effortlessly on our award-winning track hardware, offering durability and smooth operation in humid, coastal climates like Maui. All sliding tracks include a self-cleaning design which ensures smooth operation for years to come.
Lastly, each Stall Front includes our Bedding Blockers positioned smartly in between the stall door opening. Our Bedding Blockers help our clients keep the shavings and bedding where they belong - inside the stall. Allowing for a cleaner and more tidy barn.

Built for Comfort and Strength
Behind every stall front are Half-Grilled Partition Panels, designed to balance privacy and ventilation. The grilled upper section allows natural light and airflow to circulate freely, while the solid lower panel minimizes drafts and provides horses with a sense of enclosure and security. These partitions are built using our galvanized steel tubing, coated with a corrosion-resistant zinc layer, and finished with a premium powder-coat finish for a timeless, durable aesthetic.
Below is a special feature of this barn where our team built beautiful railing for the second level. This custom railing matches the Sliding Stall Fronts and the Stall Partitions to provide a modern, sleek, and consistent aesthetic.

To complete each stall, Dutch Doors and Dutch Windows line the exterior of the barn. The three Dutch Doors open from both the top and bottom, allowing horses to peek outside and enjoy the island breeze. Constructed entirely from select lumber and reinforced with our cold-rolled steel frames, these doors embody the balance of strength and natural beauty.
The three Dutch Windows mirror this functionality, allowing for adjustable airflow, sunlight, and visibility, all while maintaining the barn’s cohesive architectural design. We love that the design is consistent between the Dutch Doors and exterior Barn Windows to allow for a seamless exterior.

Every element in this project, from the stall fronts to the smallest latch, was custom-made to endure the island’s conditions while enhancing the horses’ comfort. The combination of mesh ventilation, heavy-gauge steel, and warm wood tones results in a space that feels both luxurious and grounded in function.
