We are thrilled to share our most recent, exciting project of recognition at the renowned Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington, Kentucky. Our team at American Stalls has successfully manufactured 200 custom Sliding Horse Stall Systems in the park's newest competition barns. This marks a significant milestone in our commitment to quality and innovation in equine facilities.
In this project, we had the distinct pleasure of working hand in hand with the Horse Park's team to ensure that the stall design met the needs of exhibitors and horses. We also worked closely with the project's architects and our friends at GH2 Equine Architects along with the general contractors at B&R Construction. Dive deeper into the project below!
The new barns, part of a major renovation at the Kentucky Horse Park, feature two stable pavilions, each housing 100 of our custom Sliding Horse Stalls. Each Stall Front is 10' wide to meet the spatial needs of a competition, expo-style show facility. Each horse stall then gets spaciousness with 12' Stall Partitions; completing the stalls to be 10'x12' in size.
These 10’ x 12’ stalls are designed with the utmost care, incorporating feedback from competitors and insights from the Barn Task Force. The spacious 16’ center aisles, restrooms, wash racks, muck pits, and stall mats ensure a comfortable and efficient environment for both horses and their handlers.
Our Stall Front Systems feature our classic American Stalls details that clients love so much. This includes our easy-to-use Track System which features our trolleys that allow you to effortlessly open and close doors. Gone are the days of using all of your bodyweight to push open a door at the Horse Park. Our Track and Trolley systems allow you to effortlessly operate the Sliding Stall Doors after a competition or practice.
All of the stalls are built using our pre-galvanized steel which includes a galvanization method that delivers 30% more zinc than the competition. This is then combined with our in-house powder coat to ensure a stall finish that will serve exhibitors for years to come. Lastly, each Stall Front is equipped with our Flip Latch System. You can find this same latch using in our custom Sliding Stall Front systems as it features solid 304 stainless steel. Our ergonomic design allows you to effortlessly unlock and lock the door. Each latch includes a safety behind it to ensure no Houdini can access the latch and escape.
In each barn, our stall systems are complemented with overhead fans and other modern amenities to enhance airflow and comfort. The thoughtful design and high-quality materials reflect the Kentucky Horse Park's dedication to creating spaces that meet the diverse needs of equine athletes and their teams. As both barns near completion, both barns promise to welcome competitors and their horses soon.
This project not only underscores our expertise in custom stall solutions but also showcases our commitment to excellence in horsemanship. It is an honor to serve prestigious venues like the Kentucky Horse Park. We are proud to contribute to a facility that hosts world-class equestrian events and serves as a hub for the equine community. We invite you to explore the above photos showcasing the progress and craftsmanship involved in this project. Thank you for being a part of our journey as we work with our partners to set new standards in equine facility design.
