Built for Kit Stalls

Our U-Channel is a crucial component to build your horse stall fronts and horse stall dividers. U-Channels are used to hold lumber for horse stalls. Each U-Channel is made with heavy-duty 14-GA United States Steel. All U-Channels use galvanized steel and are then finished in a black powder coat finish. Custom powder coat finishes are available including navy blue, hunter green, and slate grey.

Specifications

Our U-Channel channel is used primarily in DIY horse stalls for the easy installation of tongue and groove lumber. This u-channel is designed to accept 2” tongue and groove lumber (1 ½” thick). These u-channels are attached to your support posts or walls. Once the u-channels are screwed, clients can then slide lumber into the channels. We recommend using our kiln-dried, premium grade Douglas fir tongue and groove or Southern Yellow Pine.

FAQs

What type of wood can I insert into the u-channel?

We recommend to use 1-1/2” thick Southern Yellow Pine or Douglas fir with our u-channels.

I’m building my own horse stalls. Do I need u-channels?

Yes, u-channels are one of the crucial components needed in order to build your own horse stalls. Once you have placed posts into place, our u-channel is attached to posts to build out the rest of your stall fronts and stall partitions. Once u-channel is fixed into place on both wood posts, you are then able to slide in tongue and groove lumber.

I’m also going to use your American Stalls grillwork. Do I still need u- channel?

Yes, u-channels are still required if you are using our grillwork. The bottom portion of your stall is still framed and filled using u-channel and lumber. Once the lumber is fixed inside the u-channel, your team can then place our grillwork into place.
