There are moments in this industry that remind us why we do the work we do. In June, we had the privilege of sponsoring one of them.
Members of the Luxury Equestrian Network were welcomed to a private residence in Southern California for an intimate architectural tour led by Wade Weissmann, the renowned architect behind some of the most respected equestrian properties in the country. The estate itself is one of the most remarkable in the region. The afternoon offered a rare, behind-the-scenes look at the thinking that shaped it.
A conversation with the architect
Rather than a walk-through of finished rooms, the afternoon became a conversation. Wade guided members through the residence himself, sharing the stories behind the design decisions, the quiet problems that get solved before a wall ever goes up, and his conviction that a property of this caliber should be built to serve generations, not seasons.
For those of us who spend our days thinking about how equestrian spaces should be built, hearing that philosophy in the setting it produced was a genuine gift.
The people in the room
The conversations continued through the afternoon. Architects, builders, interior designers, real estate professionals, and industry partners moved between rooms and terraces, connecting over a shared appreciation for the craft.
It was a reminder that the real value of an afternoon like this is the relationships that form inside it. The property brings people through the door. The conversations are what stay with you.
